Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

Oversee the daily operations and supervision within the imaging department, ensuring high quality, efficient service delivery through effective staffing and resource management. Is responsible for ensuring the Imaging Department's compliance with all accrediting agency requirements. Supervises performance of all Radiologic Procedures including General Radiography, CT, US, MRI, Mammography , Special Procedures , Nuclear Medicine and Vascular Lab; Responsible for the daily operations of the department and budget management; Develops staff schedule to meet organizational needs and productivity standards; Orders and maintains supplies; Works directly with the Director in Radiology in staff development, hiring ,firing, orientation ,training and evaluation according to established guidelines; Implements quality control and performance improvement activities; Reviews documentation for compliance with all Regulatory Agencies; Assures staff compliance with the Radiation Safety Program; Keeps the Radiology Director informed regarding issues that arise in the daily departmental operations. Compiles and presents data from quality assurance programs as requested by Director. Identifies and recommends performance improvements.
Investigates complaints, Situation and Unusual Occurrence reports regarding patient care utilizing age specific criteria.
Cooperates and coordinates with other managers in facilitating communication flow and procedures between technical, clerical, support staff, students and other departments. Plans, coordinates and supervises projects including renovations.
May perform direct patient care as needed for modalities in which a registry/certification is held

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

1: Bachelors degree in business or healthcare management or a Bachelors degree in Radiology; or will obtain Bachelors degree within three years of hire. 2. Must have current BCLS certification.

1. Minimum 5 years Radiology experience.

2. Minimum 3 years Supervisor experience

3. Knowledge of performance standards as outline by the ASRT

4. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.

EDUCATION / LICENSURE:

1. Graduate from an approved school in Radiologic Technology

2. Licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) in the State of Texas

3. ARRT Certification (R) and certified in at least one additional modality, CT, MR, M, ARDMS, RVT, NM, IR acceptable.

EXPERIENCE:

1. Able to assist radiologist in performing procedures of various parts of the body from head to lower extremities when needed.
2. Knows proper thresholds that can be allowed while working with contraindications for Contrast.
3. Able to utilize critical thinking to ensure the appropriate patient care is delivered
4. Thorough knowledge of Joint Commission and TDSHS requirements
