JOB ANNOUNCEMENT PROJECT MANAGER Design and Construction CHICAGO DEPARTMENT OF AVIATION (CDA) # of positions: 1 (Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval) Starting Salary: $89,112; Grade: BX-18 Applications for this position will be accepted until 11:59 pm CDT on Monday, August 11, 2025. The candidate(s) selected for hire must pass an airport background check and a Security Threat Assessment (STA). Under the direction of the supervisor, assist in the areas of finance, procurement and contract management functions for the Chicago Department of Aviation Design & Construction Division; and assists in the short and long-term planning projects addressing airport development, planning, design and construction at O'Hare international and Midway International Airports, and performs related duties as required. The position involves comprehensive project controls management applied to the O'Hare 21 and capital improvement program for the Chicago Department of Aviation. The position oversees activities of projects from inception to completion for the purpose of controlling time, cost, scope and quality and oversees administrative personnel. The position involves the application and integration of comprehensive project controls to the design and construction process beginning in the project planning stages and continuing through project completion. The position leverages construction industry and aviation industry best practices.

Location: Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) O'Hare International Airport Chicago Days: Monday thru Friday (may vary based on projects) Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (may vary based on projects) NOTE: Must be flexible to early and/or late meetings. MINIMUM QUALFICATIONS * Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's PLUS five (5) years of work experience in finance, development, negotiation, and office administration, OR * Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree or higher PLUS four (4) years of work experience in finance, development, negotiation, and office administration, OR * Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate's degree PLUS seven (7) years of work experience in finance, development, negotiation, and office administration, OR * Nine (9) years of work experience in finance, development, negotiation, and office administration Licensure, Certification, or Other Qualifications * Project Management Professional (PMP) or other project management certifications preferred PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Critical Thinking, Complex problem solving, Leadership Disclaimer - "Accredited" means any nationally or regionally accredited college, university, or law school where the applicant is enrolled in or has completed an Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or Juris Doctorate degree program.
