What you'll do

As Vice President of Market Entry and Expansion, you will lead strategic initiatives that drive growth and position the company for success across both domestic and international markets. Your role will be central to shaping how the organization identifies and enters new territories, with direct oversight of Corporate Development, Marketing, Capture Strategy, Market Intelligence, and Government Affairs across the U.S., APAC, and EMEA.

You will spearhead corporate development efforts, identifying and executing mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and joint ventures that align with the company's growth objectives. Your leadership will guide the development of go-to-market strategies tailored to regional nuances, ensuring market entry plans are both agile and compliant. In Marketing, you will oversee brand positioning and demand generation efforts that support customer acquisition and engagement. You will enhance capture processes to elevate quality and competitiveness, particularly within government and enterprise verticals. Additionally, you will strengthen the company's market intelligence capabilities, equipping leadership with actionable insights drawn from competitive analysis, industry trends, and customer data. Finally, you'll manage government affairs strategy, building key relationships with stakeholders across U.S. and EMEA jurisdictions, while staying ahead of evolving regulations and advocating for policies aligned with the company's priorities.


The day-to-day

* Drive the strategic positioning of the Government business as an independent entity by executing VGOV's market-entry strategy, leading cross-functional initiatives in corporate development, marketing, market intelligence, and government affairs to expand into new markets and integrate diverse business models, customers, and products; align multi-network orchestration and tactical networking into a cohesive, data-informed approach that enables strategic partnerships
* Lead corporate development efforts including mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and joint ventures aligned with growth goals
* Coordinate with international business leaders to develop and implement go-to-market strategies for new regional entries, ensuring compliance with local regulations
* Oversee marketing initiatives that support brand positioning, demand generation, and customer engagement
* Improve capture development processes to boost competitiveness and win rates, especially in government and enterprise sectors
* Strengthen market intelligence capabilities by analyzing customer data, competitive trends, and industry developments
* Champion a culture of "One Viasat" that empowers and motivates multiple cross-functional workstreams and teams, ensuring alignment and effective collaboration both in the U.S. and globally.
* Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues that could impact the market entry and expansion effort, developing contingency plans as needed.
* Identify, engage, and manage expectations of diverse stakeholders.
* Collaborate with business and functional area teams to identify, design, and implement new or revised processes, policies, and systems required for the Government business' independent operation.


What you'll need

* Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, engineering, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA, Master's) is highly preferred.
* 10 + years leading large-scale teams in aerospace and defense.
* Proven executive experience leading aerospace and defense market expansion, corporate development, or strategy in a global enterprise setting
* Deep understanding of market dynamics across U.S., APAC, and EMEA regions, including government affairs and regulatory frameworks
* Demonstrated success in managing complex cross-border initiatives, M&A activity, or public-private partnerships
* Strong background in marketing leadership, including brand strategy and demand generation
* Experience optimizing capture process processes for competitive industries, especially in government or enterprise sectors
* Analytical acumen with a track record of leveraging market intelligence to drive high-impact business decisions
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, particularly with government entities and international partners
* High emotional intelligence, intellectual curiosity, and a servant-leadership style with a demonstrated track record of achieving results
* Proven ability to lead complex strategic programs and drive large-scale organizational change from inception through successful completion.
* Strong understanding of government contracting, regulatory compliance, and security requirements.

Must be able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Salary range

$347,000.00 - $494,500.00 / annually.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $420,500.00- $568,500.00/ annually
