We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager of Data Engineering to lead our talented team in developing and implementing robust data solutions on Salesforce Data Cloud. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Salesforce Development, modern data engineering technologies including DBT, Airflow, Snowflake, and Python. Additionally, experience in managing data engineering teams, coaching team members through technical challenges, and overseeing day-to-day people management activities is essential.

The right candidate brings world class business understanding on the value of connecting all customer data along with the technical aptitude required to manage high volume transactional data sets. This candidate will have experience integrating and applying customer data for marketing segmentation, targeting, and personalization. This role will drive the technical implementation of Salesforce's own customer data platform (Salesforce Data Cloud) and partner closely with the Salesforce product teams to inform the future roadmap.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of data engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to drive excellence in performance and results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement data solutions that align with business objectives and requirements.
  • Drive the adoption and implementation of modern data engineering technologies and best practices, including DBT, Airflow, Snowflake, and Python.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of Salesforce solutions on Salesforce Data Cloud, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and standards.
  • Manage the end-to-end engineering lifecycle, from data acquisition and integration to transformation and visualization on Salesforce Data Cloud Platform.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on Salesforce Data Cloud and data engineering principles and technologies, providing insights and recommendations to inform decision-making processes.
  • Monitor and optimize data pipelines and workflows to ensure scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering, leveraging knowledge to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Qualifications:

  • A related technical degree required.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in data engineering and 5 years of experience in managing and building team of data engineering, with a focus on Salesforce Development and modern data engineering technologies.
  • Proven experience managing and leading data engineering teams, with a track record of success in delivering high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
  • Good to have experience in Salesforce Development, with experience in Salesforce Data Cloud considered a significant advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern data engineering technologies and tools, including DBT, Airflow, Snowflake, and Python.
  • Experience with CDP implementation is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience working directly with senior executive leadership and ability to lead significant programs with market impact across multiple business units and/or companies.
  • Proven experience recruiting and mentoring world class data talent
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor team members, fostering a culture of learning, growth, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a proactive and results-oriented approach to achieving objectives.
  • Inspiring team player with a driven, results-focused attitude that is able to support multiple large initiatives across cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Customer Success, Product Marketing, SIs, and more).

In office expectations are 10 days/a quarter to support customers and/or collaborate with their teams.
