What You'll Do

  • Utilize the first six (6) to twelve (12) months of your tenure with ECS to learn programs and processes.
  • Work with subsidiary and national leadership to develop a strategic business plan for growth of one or more core service lines or one or more proposed service lines. Identify innovative ways to add complementary services to expand capabilities and revenue streams for service lines.
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive, innovative, and dynamic company culture.
  • Oversee projects, perform technical report reviews, prepare proposals, and manage project teams with a strong commitment to meeting project deadlines.
  • Responsible for complying with corporate-level and office-specific Quality Management Systems (QMS) related policies and procedures; including adoption, implementation, and enforcement.
  • Promote safe work practices and ensure proper PPE is used.
  • Lead and mentor staff, supporting and overseeing their development.
  • Attend project meetings and provide technical solutions as necessary.
  • Market our services and promote the ECS name out in the marketplace. Maintain and further develop the client database.
  • Engage in and provide innovative and timely feedback for development of companywide initiatives.
  • Coach, train, and discipline staff as necessary.
  • Collaborate with in-house engineers, architects, and other technical professionals to develop standard operating procedures and best practices associated with your area of expertise.
  • Involvement with projects with significant risk (business and technical) / portfolios within the Mid-Atlantic region
  • Provide deliberate oversight and engage with project team (PM/PE) as required for on-going projects
  • QA oversight, with assistance from Team, ensuring that scope and staffing qualifications are met.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet quality/safety standards
  • Manage risks and assist in solving major problems that arise on projects
  • May include Designated Principal responsibilities for overseeing consistency of deliverables and service for National Account / portfolio work.
  • Will include client communication, periodic site visits, and client meetings, etc.
  • Build and maintain client relationships to encourage repeat business
  • Perform other related duties, as directed

What We're Looking For

  • BS degree in any of the multi-disciplined civil engineering, environmental science, architecture, or geologic sciences. Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be acceptable.
  • 12 years of technical and progressive managerial experience.
  • The potential to achieve professional license and/or certifications in your area of expertise.
  • Extensive knowledge of principles and applications in one or more core service lines or one or more proposed service lines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and responsible
  • Strong project management, technical consulting, and business development skills
  • Knowledge of and established relationships in the local market are preferred
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to build a team and foster mentorship, development, and training
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to work effectively with clients, peers, subordinates, and supervisors
  • Expert knowledge of their proposed service line
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills
  • High-level understanding of prioritizing and urgency of work in the consulting industry
  • Experience in supervising other staff
  • Self-starter with a 'roll-up' your sleeve mentality to get things done
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with loss and liability prevention
