This engineering position is for a Process Engineering owner for the Process Control group in a high-volume wafer fab. The Staff Process Engineer is responsible for sustaining and improving equipment and process-related metrics, with an emphasis on defect detection and reduction activities. Additional responsibilities include continually improving processes, developing & transferring new processes into production, new tool start-ups and improvement of product quality and defectivity. Sustain current processes to achieve greater line and parametric yields. Monitor current processes to ensure process complies with necessary parameters and provides a base line for any necessary process enhancements. Develop and transfer new processes to production. Provide pre-process troubleshooting, analysis of outcomes and feasibility of process. Ensure process meets design criteria. Write programs to test, monitor or process wafers. Monitor results of tests. Analyze visual and physical test data to determine disposition of product material. Responsible for equipment selection, equipment qualification, and characterization, to ensure maximum operation. Set up and maintain documentation and statistical process control charts on all relevant processes. Review professional publications regarding current processes and process equipment for applicability. Analyze failed runs to identify the source of process errors and recommend process changes. REQUIREMENTS Knowledge of semiconductor processing techniques and statistics. Skills in technical writing, computers, interfacing with people, problem solving and organization. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry or related field and 5 years' experience. The estimated base salary range for the position is $86,000-$125,000. The pay offered is based on many factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, job-related experience, skills and level of the position.
