Examination Method: Education and Experience, 100%, for Preferred Service positions. Overview Under general supervision, performs routine, preventative and reactive maintenance and repair to all building systems, cabins, fixtures, furniture, and equipment of a Tennessee Parks lodges and cabins and performs other work as required. An employee in this class performs manual labor related to the maintenance, care and improvement of Tennessee Parks lodges and cabins. Performs routine, preventative and reactive maintenance and repair to all building systems, cabins, fixtures, furniture, and equipment. This classification differs from that of the TDEC Building Maintenance Supervisor in that an incumbent of the latter provides supervision to subordinates. Responsibilities
- Performs general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, cabins, public areas, restaurant, and administrative offices. This includes routine carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and other general maintenance work as needed.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on Lodge equipment including kitchen, plumbing, pool, HVAC, boiler, work areas, cabins, and guest rooms.
- Identifies maintenance issues and either resolves issues or reports issues to TDEC Building Maintenance Supervisor Chief of Maintenance and Director of Operations.
- Reviews preventative maintenance plans in order to perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that equipment continues to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and/or the physical condition of building does not deteriorate.
- Completes work order request forms to log repair work, time expended, and materials used.
- Maintains log of all warranty information, service contracts, inventory, and other information related to the long term care of Lodge equipment.
- Communicates with general public to provide basic customer service and direct persons to appropriate solutions or answers.
- Performs physical tasks related to the operation of a hotel environment such as moving objects such as large furniture, file cabinets, cubicles, chairs, desks, and bookshelves, sets up cubicle spaces, conference rooms, and special events, unloads truck shipments, and removes trash and construction waste.
