Here's how you will impact Ingevity:

The Shipping Lead will have direct responsibility for the shipping functions at the Dayton, NV facility. This position will report to the Plant Manager and lead the shipping operation. This position will ensure on-time, safe distribution of the paint products to exceed our customer's expectations. Responsibilities will include and not be limited to the following:

  • Oversee raw and finished material inventories, supplies, and coordination of loading and unloading of all materials for the plant.
  • Work closely with scheduling, quality and shipping to ensure quality product and on-time delivery.
  • Meet the daily fulfillment of orders during the loading process for the supply of bulk and package materials
  • Have strong communication skills with production, production planning and logistics on all daily operations.
  • Ensure daily shipments meet 100% on time delivery goals
  • Coordinate with customer service and the relevant resources to prioritize shipments
  • Help resolve customer complaints and develop plans to deal with quality issues in a timely manner.
  • Learn procedures, work instructions, shipping records, log systems, and structured systems of communication as needed.
  • Perform the job duties of the office admin in their absence.
  • Coordinate and prioritize repair work with maintenance.
  • Maintain a safe and environmentally compliant area.

Here is what you'll need to succeed in this role:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associate level degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2+ years related experience is ideal. Will consider all experience levels.
  • Minimum 2+ years SAP experience preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience operating a sit-down forklift.
  • Experience with loading and unloading box trailers, flat beds, step-deck trailers, and rail car trailers.
  • Knowledge of unloading material tankers into silos.
  • Experience/knowledge with bill of ladings, inventory control systems, scales, packing, and timeline scheduling.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people at all levels of the company to achieve results.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to process and systems improvements.
  • Working computer knowledge in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Willingness to work 40-60 hours a week, including Saturdays, as needed.
  • Report directly to the Plant Manager.
  • Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned.
  • This role is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. The successful candidate must not now, or in the future, require sponsorship to work in the US
  • This role is not eligible for relocation assistance
