The Supervisor of Radiology is a skilled professional and supervisory position responsible for coordinating the delivery of healthcare services through radiographic procedures to assist in diagnosis and treatment. This role oversees both human and physical resources to ensure operational standards are met and adapted to a changing work environment. Apply today and learn how MedStar Health can be your next great career move! Primary Duties: * Assists the Director and Manager in planning and organizing department operations. Oversees staff assignments, monitors performance and documentation quality, addresses patient concerns, ensures compliance with hospital policies, facilitates meetings, manages equipment repairs, and supports hiring, training, and staff development. Acts as an instructor and mentor for staff and students, and promotes a collaborative team environment * Performs radiologic procedures, verifies patient consent and readiness, practices aseptic techniques, positions patients appropriately, and ensures physical and emotional comfort. Monitors patients throughout procedures, evaluates image quality, adheres to safety protocols, initiates basic life support when needed, and documents all clinical actions accurately. * Participates in department quality assessment and improvement plans. Monitors and reports equipment issues; ensures proper radiation safety practices, conducts equipment checks, and maintains a clean, safe, and well-stocked work environment. Complies with universal precautions and emergency procedures to ensure patient, visitor, and staff safety. * Provides ongoing education to staff, students, and other healthcare professionals. Maintains all required certifications and licensure (e.g., CPR, age-specific competencies), participates in continuing education, and keeps up to date with hospital policies. Identifies personal learning needs and takes initiative to improve skills and knowledge. * Supports front desk operations, patient transport, and imaging procedures; assists with inventory, supply purchases, and interdepartmental coordination. Qualifications: * Vocational/Technical Diploma in Radiology (Required) * Associate's degree in Radiology (Required) * New Graduate * 1-2 years of experience in a hospital setting (Preferred) Licenses/ Certifications: * Amer Reg of Radiologic Tech - (R)(CT)(ARRT) (Required) and * Licensed Radiographer - RADIOGRA in Maryland (Required) * CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 days (Required) * Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit. This position has a hiring range of $46.17 - $75.62 |
