POSITION SUMMARY

The Data Engineer works with business operations and finance to design, build, and maintain data systems to ensure that data is accessible and reliable. Designs SSRS reports, queries and data extracts. Duties include standardization of data from internal and multiple partner sources, data maintenance, data pipeline development, database administration, strict data security compliance and research.

  • Be involved and interested in application design: Be able to work with developers in solving problems as it pertains to application design, data modeling, data access, and reporting.
  • Collaborate across process areas, identify internal and external data sources to design and implement new data models, table structures, ELT strategies, automation frameworks and scalable data pipelines
  • Requires continued commitment to robust and comprehensive testing of new solutions and enhancements of existing solutions
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to gather requirements and build solutions that meet the stakeholders' needs
  • Design, build and maintain efficient and reliable data pipelines with SSIS and ADF to move data across several environments and platforms
  • Experience in documenting data capture requirements, source to target mappings, data flow diagrams, entity relationships and complex data models
  • Ability to understand and meet communicated deadlines as directed by the Data & Analytics Manager
  • Capability to manage and deliver on multiple projects that are running concurrently
  • Manage large data imports and extracts for Operations department.
  • Strive for clean database design: Implement and enforce consistent database conventions. Design the best data model for the requirement at hand, be willing to normalize and de-normalize where needed.
  • Develop and maintain proactive error checking and logging for scheduled data load jobs
  • Find ways to fully automate data pipelines
  • Use Power Automate and Power Apps to build solutions that will enable our stakeholders to enter data and to approve month-end invoicing data
  • Responsible for standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security administration
  • Development process and practices: Understand and know how to use version control for all databases, drive databases changes through the development process and environments, create automated ways to promote database modifications, create deployment scripts for upgrades, develop and implement database standards and procedures.
  • Optimizing database access and allocating/re-allocating database resources for optimal configuration, database performance, and system utilization.
  • Manage all data. Synchronize data across multiple development, testing, and production environments including migrating between disparate databases.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day database administrative tasks, such as: proactive monitoring, error checking, performance tuning, replication, trouble-shooting, back-up and recovery.
  • Strong database administration skills with an emphasis on enterprise scale architecture.
  • Investigating, reviewing, applying and testing all patches and bug fixes in the database environment and providing consultation on patch management, custom interface design and operational implementation.
  • Managing user security and access to databases to provide a controlled access environment.
  • Work with application developers, data analysts, and database engineers to maintain database schemas.
  • Participate in testing of all database-related changes
  • Participate in planning, design, implementation, and testing of new and changing database configurations
  • Provide DBMS and database knowledge to developers, business analysts, testers, and others as needed
  • Develop queries, stored procedures, triggers, and scripts as needed

PREFERRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education : Bachelor's Degree preferred (four year college or university) or five plus years related experience required.
Experience : Minimum of five plus years related experience, healthcare or claims processing experience is a plus.

Computer Skills: Extensive experience with SQL, SSRS, SSIS, ADF and other database architecture. Salesforce administration, project management, VBA, Power Automate, and MS Office automation is a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
