Cloud Operations Engineer II (Remote)

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.

Working within First Citizens Bank's Cloud Services team, this role focus on implementing, managing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure. As a Cloud Operations Engineer II, you will be responsible for providing hands-on support for cloud operations, developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions, and assisting with cloud infrastructure monitoring and incident response.

The Cloud Operations Engineer II will deploy and manage cloud resources, troubleshoot and resolve intermediate issues, and maintain the overall health of cloud environments. This role also involves configuring logging and monitoring, enforcing security best practices, and supporting teams that write and maintain IaC templates. You will work closely with other teams to support cloud infrastructure and contribute to maintaining a secure, high-performing environment.

• Cloud Infrastructure Management - Deploys and manages cloud resources, optimizing configurations for security, performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Infrastructure as Code - Writes and maintains IaC templates, manages CI/CD pipelines, and automates cloud operations
• Cloud Infrastructure Support - Troubleshoots and resolves intermediate issues, often working cross-functionally to support applications and services
• Cloud Infrastructure Monitoring - Monitors and enforces security best practices; manages role-based access and compliance tasks.
• Support - Assists in the design of scalable and reliable architectures, contributing to cloud architecture planning. Maintain and share technical documentation to support knowledge transfer within the team. Provides 24/7 on-call support to ensure the availability and reliability of cloud infrastructure.

Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Cloud Operations OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Cloud Operations.

Preferred Experience:

• 5 years of experience in cloud operations, infrastructure management, or related areas.

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience with AWS and Azure Cloud Services.
• Demonstratable experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Demonstratable experience with scripting languages and automation (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
• Experience with container technologies like Docker.
• Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and security best practices for cloud environments.

If hired in Arizona, the base pay for this position is generally between $104,500 and $159,500. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
