Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer (TA/AS).The Systems Engineer (Target Auxiliary/Augmentation Systems - TA/AS) provides expert-level engineering support for the design, integration, testing, and maintenance of Navy TA/AS platforms and equipment. With at least fifteen years of specialized experience, the Systems Engineer will lead and support efforts involving systems installation, troubleshooting, and intermediate maintenance. The role requires deep technical knowledge of Navy-specific systems such as AN/DSQ-50A, AN/DPN-88/90, RT-2109/2140, GSQ-228, ATE, and MATS. Familiarity with the Navy's Competency Aligned Organizational (CAO) and Integrated Product Team (IPT) structures is essential. A DoD Secret clearance is required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in systems engineering related to Naval Target Auxiliary/Augmentation Systems (TA/AS)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of:

    • Design and development of TA/AS platforms

    • Systems integration and configuration

    • Installation and testing of TA/AS components

    • Troubleshooting and performing intermediate-level maintenance

  • Specialized experience encompassing all Navy TA/AS equipment

  • Familiarity with:

    • Navy's Competency Aligned Organizational (CAO) structure

    • Navy's Integrated Product Team (IPT) structure

  • Active DoD Secret clearance

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide systems engineering support for the full lifecycle of Navy TA/AS platforms and components

  • Lead design, integration, and configuration efforts for TA/AS equipment

  • Oversee installation and testing of assigned systems to ensure operational readiness

  • Troubleshoot and perform intermediate-level maintenance on TA/AS hardware

  • Apply technical expertise to ensure the functionality and reliability of systems such as:

    • AN/DSQ-50A

    • AN/DPN-88 and AN/DPN-90

    • RT-2109 and RT-2140

    • GSQ-228

    • Automated Test Equipment (ATE)

    • Multi-Asset Test Set (MATS)

  • Support IPT and CAO-aligned efforts, collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

  • Maintain accurate records and engineering documentation in compliance with Navy standards
