THE ROLE:

AMD's Software Ecosystem Engineering Team is looking for a results-driven Senior Leader to take ownership of the vision, development, and service delivery of AMD's internal tools ecosystem, which is built on a unified performance data warehouse. This role will harness SaaS-style architecture and delivery principles to enhance the organization's capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in SaaS platform design, agile software development, stakeholder communication, and roadmap ownership. By combining a customer-centric approach with technical expertise, they will ensure that AMD's internal tools are reliable, scalable, and continually evolving to meet the growing complexities of AMD's silicon, systems, and software stack, while also supporting the needs of both engineering and customer-facing teams.

THE PERSON:

The AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) team is seeking a senior-level professional to provide guidance, mentor emerging developers, and contribute to long-term strategic planning while also being proactive in resolving issues. The selected candidate will engage in various aspects that affect the team, including performance, automation, and development processes. The ideal candidate will stay informed about the latest industry trends and be prepared to offer consultative insights to senior management

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the end-to-end architecture, agile development, and service delivery of AMD's internal tools platform using SaaS principles
  • Design and scale services for telemetry ingestion, performance benchmarking, triage, regression analysis, and reporting-all supported by a shared performance data warehouse
  • Translate internal engineering and customer-facing requirements into practical tool features and operational capabilities
  • Define and manage product roadmaps with a focus on usability, data integrity, service availability, and time-to-value
  • Foster collaboration across silicon, software, platform engineering, validation, and support teams to drive adoption and gather continuous feedback
  • Establish and maintain modern DevOps and CI/CD practices, including SLA definitions, observability, and automated testing
  • Build and mentor high-performing teams of software engineers, data engineers, and service owners
  • Partner with enterprise and cloud infrastructure teams to align tooling delivery with AMD's broader digital transformation goals
  • Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and technical partners to align on priorities, milestones, and service evolution

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in x86 computing architecture
  • Background in software development and optimization of data plane libraries and networking device drivers
  • Demonstrated contributions to open-source projects that drive innovation and performance in complex systems
  • Experience in software or platform engineering with ownership of end-to-end services or products
  • Proven ability to design and deliver SaaS platforms, especially for internal developer or data-facing tools
  • Track record of delivering internal platforms that:
    • Provide performance insights
    • Enhance engineering productivity
    • Support data-driven decision-making
  • Experience with agile development methodologies, including iterative planning and backlog management
  • Proficiency in modern data and service stack technologies, such as: Spark, Kafka, SQL/NoSQL, Airflow, Kubernetes, Containerization, GitOps
  • Strong understanding of telemetry and performance measurement across silicon, firmware, and software systems
  • Excellent skills in communication and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to align cross-functional teams and executives
  • Customer-centric mindset with a demonstrated ability to turn stakeholder feedback into valuable product features
  • Experience in Semiconductors, high-performance computing (HPC), or cloud infrastructure, internal tools development at scale, performance telemetry visualization, root cause analysis, and automated testing workflows, and architectures such as AMD, Intel, NVIDIA, or Arm

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related equivalent
