Description

Brown and Caldwell has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated entry-level Civil or Environmental Engineer to join our Tampa team! We offer a collaborative and multi-disciplinary work environment to develop innovative designs for new and rehabilitation of water/wastewater infrastructure, facilities, expansions, upgrades and retrofits. You will work with and be mentored by strong, nationally recognized, senior technical staff in Tampa and across the company for both municipal and private infrastructure projects.

Our ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, be highly organized, and be capable of working in a diverse team environment and handling multiple tasks with competing priorities. Typical roles and responsibilities include:



  • Performing engineering work with our Municipal Design Discipline Team on water and wastewater projects, including treatment plants, pipelines, rehabilitation, and pumping stations for municipal clients.
  • Working with teams on engineering designs, preparing reports, construction drawings, specifications, and calculations for various projects.
  • Performing preliminary design activities such as studies, data analysis, and alternatives analyses.
  • Preparing technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables.
  • Checking performance or conformity with plans and specifications through field inspections as part of engineering services during construction.
  • Conducting field work, such as site investigations, as necessary for various projects.
  • Communicating effectively and coordinate with project teams including other disciplines (Engineers, Designers).
  • Coordinating project work with process-mechanical, geotechnical, architectural, process, instrumentation, and electrical engineers and consultants.
  • Working 40-hours per week in person at the Tampa office.


Required Qualifications:



  • BS Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Good technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts both visually and verbally.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite applications including Word, Outlook, Project, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with fundamental technical topics, including:



    • Pipeline design
    • Pumping systems
    • Full and Partial Pipe flow
    • Construction
    • Surveying



Preferred Qualifications:



  • EI qualifications or intent to pursue EI standing within 12 months of hire date.
  • Field/construction experience.
  • Experience in the water or wastewater infrastructure industry.


Salary Range:Theanticipatedstarting payrange for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and maybemore or lessdependingupon skills, experience,and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A: $58,000 - $79,000
