This Position reports to: Quality (Supervisor)
In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist the Quality team in implementing and maintaining a quality system, including conducting audits, establishing controls, training on tools and methodologies. Each day, you will support activities related to quality management within the organizational unit. You will also showcase your expertise by reporting quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and customer cases and maintaining process documentation. You will be mainly accountable for: Safety
- Understands and follows plant safety and procedures
- Avoids or prevents hazardous conditions from developing
- Wears appropriate protective equipment as required, dresses and conducts self in a safe manner
- Keeps work area clean and orderly and maintains Lean 5S
- Participates in plant safety objectives
Job Functions
- Reporting quality issues data, ensuring adherence to quality management system at all stages.
- Acquiring and reporting quality metrics and KPIs accurately and in a timely manner to facilitate the analysis and management of local processes.
- Utilizing measurement systems to produce data that reflect the accurate characteristics of materials, products, systems, and processes.
- Training local operational teams on relevant elements of quality management, supporting implementation, and promoting opportunities for improvement.
- Perform patrols and visual inspections on finished, in-process rubber/epoxy molded products during all phases of manufacturing.
- May use fixed or precision measuring instruments (Calipers, go/no go gages ect.).
- Read blueprints and other specifications to obtain product information.
- Assures control of nonconforming product/material to established procedures.
- Reviews and documents RMA's as needed.
- Performs dimensional inspection for product acceptance as required (first piece, recalls etc).
Education and Experience
- High School diploma/GED is required
- Prior manufacturing experience or quality control experience Preferred
- Ability to lift to 40lbs and perform push/pull functions
- Can work overtime to meet Business Objectives
- Can work a weekend schedule as needed.
Skills and/or Training
- Ability to read and understand various written instructions in English
- Bend, twist & turn in a safe manner
- Lift up to 40 Pounds
- Stand for long periods
- Good hand dexterity
- Ability to speak and write in clear English communications
- Strong math skills
