Responsibilities

Join Our Team as a Senior Staff Accountant!

Are you ready to take your accounting career to the next level? We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team at Newport Healthcare! In this pivotal role, you will manage fixed assets, oversee capital spending, and ensure the accuracy of our financial records while leveraging the latest technologies.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage Fixed Assets: Take charge of monthly capital spending activities and maintain our fixed asset module, ensuring everything is reconciled and accurate.
  • Financial Accuracy: Review and input entries into accounts, examining financial statements and reports to uphold the highest standards of accuracy and completeness.
  • Journal Entries: Prepare complex and routine closing journal entries, including debt interest accruals and property tax accruals.
  • Audit Assistance: Collaborate on year-end audits and prepare PBC schedules as needed.
  • Process Development: Create and document accounting policies and processes that enhance our internal controls.
  • Reporting: Develop and maintain essential accounting reports, including Balance Sheets and Income Statements, and prepare ad hoc reports as required.
  • Team Leadership: Plan, assign, and review your team's work, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in Accounting required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Great Plains preferred.
  • Experience with banking systems and Concur SAP preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel experience required.
