Job Summary
Our Sr. Service HVAC/Chiller Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and installing HVAC and Commercial chiller equipment. Performs inspections, testing, repairs and planned maintenance of advanced and complex HVAC & Chiller systems.
Essential Duties
- Maintains, diagnoses and repairs HVAC and Chiller systems, to include: Centrifugal, DX Air-cooled, Scroll/Reciprocating & Screw.
- Coordinates work processes on large projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project specifications and deadlines.
- Performs disassembly and reassembly of commercial equipment for troubleshooting and planned maintenance per service agreements, ensuring optimal system performance.
- Proficiently operate a range of hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment to diagnose and maintain HVAC systems effectively.
- Successfully complete service contracts, quoted projects, and respond to demand service calls promptly and efficiently as per company directives.
- Develops long-term relationships with customers and explains work performed to the customer's satisfaction.
- Communicates and documents project status to all project stakeholders.
- Serves as a lead and front-line resource to service technicians through technical support.
- Coordinates the work of subcontractors, and trains and provides guidance to technicians.
- Purchases materials and issues purchase order numbers to suppliers.
- Safely drives a motor vehicle and trailer, follows requirements of company vehicle driving policy and adheres to all company safety requirements.
- Maintains equipment, tools, and inventory stock on service vehicle.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant HVAC Service experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Advanced knowledge of service processes, techniques, and codes is required.
- Troubleshooting of chiller control panels, routine mechanical and electrical.
- Background performing centrifugal chiller overhaul services.
- Chiller system knowledge: (air, water & controls)
- Knowledge of brand-specific controls (Siemens, Johnson Controls, Distec)
- Proficient in reading complex schematics and prints
- Able to perform as a self-managed individual
- Must be able to display a professional demeanor, solid interpersonal skills with good written and oral communication capabilities.
