Job Summary The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and reliable operation of the organization's IT infrastructure. This includes managing servers, networks, and security systems to ensure high availability and performance. The role involves proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting both on-premises and cloud-based systems. The IT Systems Administrator collaborates with IT and business teams to implement solutions that align with organizational goals and security standards. Essential Functions: Infrastructure & Systems Management
- Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers, storage, and network infrastructure.
- Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Manage cloud services (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure) and hybrid environments.
- Monitor system performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
- Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
Security & Compliance
- Implement and maintain security tools such as anti-virus, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Conduct regular audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, industry regulations, and data protection standards.
- Maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Technical Support & Collaboration
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated issues from Service Desk and junior IT staff.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers for system upgrades and support.
- Participate in IT projects and contribute to infrastructure planning and improvements.
- Manage and support Virtual Desktop Infrastructure environments.
- Deploy and configure virtual desktops to meet company needs.
- Monitor VDI performance and optimize resource allocation.
- Ensure VDI security and compliance with organizational policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Success in this role will require
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, VDI, Azure Local).
- Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and ITSM platforms.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Ability to solve problems in stressful situations.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of experience in systems administration or IT infrastructure roles.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Security+, or VMware VCP are a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server, and Office 365.
- Experience with VMware vCenter, virtual machines, and storage technologies.
- Experience with backup solutions, endpoint management, and cloud platforms.
- Ability to lift and install computing hardware and work in a secure IT infrastructure environment.
- Must have a valid driver's license, with an acceptable driving record, along with adequate insurance.
