Mechanical Assembler

Advantage xPO is hiring a dedicated and safety-focused Mechanical Assembler to join our team in Chicago, IL. In this hands-on role, you'll work with products used in the Railway industry, such as draft gears, slack adjusters, and air brake system components. You'll be assembling, painting, and packaging high-quality parts with precision, efficiency, and attention to detail.

Pay: $18/hr

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Responsibilities:

• Follow all safety procedures and wear proper PPE at all times
• Assemble products by reading blueprints or using product knowledge
• Fasten parts using bolts, screws, rivets, or other mechanical fasteners
• Grind, file, or scrape components to ensure a tight fit
• Operate tools and machinery such as drill presses, punch presses, and riveting machines
• Disassemble used products to salvage and recondition reusable parts
• Paint components using air-assisted spray guns
• Maintain a clean, organized work area in line with 5S principles
• Assist with packaging and material handling as needed using nail or staple guns

What We're Looking For:

• Previous assembly or manufacturing experience preferred
• Ability to read blueprints and follow verbal/written instructions
• Comfortable using hand and power tools
• Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally
• Must pass a spirometry fit test (N95 mask required for some tasks)
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
