Job Description Summary

Responsible for installation, maintenance and calibration of high-end analytical equipment. Perform tasks accurately and on schedule. Know and follow all safety procedures and be able to respond appropriately.

Job Description

Major accountabilities:

  • Works in a GMP/GCP/GLP/CLIA regulated environment and is responsible for following all applicable regulations

  • Work independently and/or with minimal supervision to conduct laboratory instrumentation service requests including first response, triage/troubleshooting, repairs, installation and configuration.

  • Work independently and/or with minimal supervision to manage the installation, configuration, and operation of instrumentation and operating software. This will include interacting with appropriate informatics groups as necessary.

  • Evaluate and develop strategies and procedures that assure instrumentation and systems meet or exceed the original manufacturer's specifications throughout the equipment lifecycle.

  • Provide GxP (Good Laboratory or Manufacturing Practices) compliance and audit readiness as necessary.

  • Interfaces with internal QA in addition to external vendors and field service engineers to coordinate instrument repair, relocation, and routine maintenance.

  • Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.

  • Collaborate with scientific groups to evaluate the appropriate use and selection of instrumentation and process equipment.

  • May perform assigned instrument qualification, including protocol generation and execution.

  • Maintain equipment, instrumentation, and/or reagent inventory reports, logs, and calibration schedule.

  • Assist with maintenance of monitoring systems for temperature dependent equipment and environmental conditions

  • Assists with Lab QA metrics and reporting.

  • Assist in the performance of quality control procedures.

  • May participate in training of new employees as assigned.

  • Other lab operations support or departmental duties may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or life science discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in support of high-end analytical laboratory instrumentation.
  • In-depth knowledge of cGMPs, other regulatory requirements and instrument calibration. Excellent communication skills necessary to deal effectively with co-workers and external vendors; Ability to deal effectively with all levels of laboratory staff and to communicate clearly and concisely. Meticulous attention to detail, with good reasoning skills in experimental design, data analysis and interpretation. Must possess excellent organizational and time management skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to laboratory instruments.

The work environment involves moderate exposure to unusual elements including: extreme temperatures, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. The work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and includes the use of protective equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Interaction with laboratory equipment, samples, supplies, and laboratory personnel may be required whereby appropriate precautions are to be taken per the Company's Safety and Injury, Illness and Prevention Plans.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $70,000 and $130,000 per year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/25 through 12/31/25 fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
