Position Description:

The Kern National Network for Flourishing in Medicine (KNN) is seeking a Director of Measurement and Evaluation to lead the organization's efforts to design, implement, and oversee comprehensive evaluation frameworks that measure program effectiveness, organizational impact, and return on investment. This senior leadership role requires strategic thinking, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for executive decision-making. This individual will report to the KNN's National Director for Strategy and Partnerships, collaborate and coordinate with the KNN Program Office and serve as a member of the leadership team.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, direct and implement a program-wide measurement and evaluation strategy aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Establish and oversee evaluation standards, methodologies, and best practices across all programs and initiatives
  • Lead cross-functional teams to integrate evaluation thinking into program design and implementation.
  • Present evaluation findings and recommendations to executive leadership and key external stakeholders, including funders, partners and the general public.
  • Design and oversee rigorous evaluation studies using quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
  • Conduct impact assessments, outcome evaluation and cost-benefit analyses.
  • Develop logic models, theory of change frameworks, and key performance indicators.
  • Ensure evaluation activities comply with industry standards and ethical guidelines.
  • Oversee data collection, management, and analysis systems and processes
  • Implement data governance protocols and ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Utilize advanced statistical methods and evaluation tools to analyze program outcomes.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting systems for real-time performance monitoring.
  • Serve in a collaborative capacity as a member of the leadership team and contribute to the measurement and evaluation of KNN activities and events.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and evidence-based decision making.
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity building to program staff on evaluation methods.
  • Collaborate with external evaluators and research partners.
  • Prepare comprehensive evaluation reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Translate complex evaluation findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Develop data visualizations and storytelling techniques to communicate impact effectively.
  • Support grant writing and reporting requirements with evaluation data and insights.
  • Monitor quality assurance and compliance related to the goals, objectives, and outcomes for the area.
  • Develop and maintain measurement and evaluation policies and procedures.
  • Participate on appropriate committees relevant to the advancement of the program and the profession or area of research.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and institutional policies.

Knowledge - Skills - Abilities

  • Advanced proficiency in statistical software and database management.
  • Expertise in mixed-methods research design and implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of evaluation frameworks and methodologies (experimental, quasi-experimental, developmental)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and survey platforms
  • Familiarity with grant compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to diverse audiences.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple complex evaluations simultaneously.
  • Experience building evaluation capacity within organizations.




Preferred Schedule:




M - F, 8am-5pm



Position Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:
Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.

Minimum education: Master's degree
Minimum experience: 10 years in program evaluation, research or analytics

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Education: PhD
Preferred Experience: 5 years leadership experience managing evaluation teams or departments
