A Check & Straighten Operator corrects and verifies parts to comply to prescribed requirements of contour, flatness, waviness, angularity, etc., as applicable. The process of using a tool such as a punch or check fixture and mechanically manipulating the profile of a part to closely match that of the tool. This operation is performed by a skilled operator using hand tools and measuring implements such as feeler gauges or go-no go gauges. Set up parts on pedestals, punch and or check fixtures Use prescribed solvents, cleaning agents to remove dirt, grit and foreign objects Use hammers, tools-pneumatic and/or hydraulic, gauges, fixtures as required Scribe part, cut and or shear, grind and deburr as per associated instructions Performs typical check & straight operations to support the production schedule Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition Follows prescribed safety regulations and guidelines Makes use of pallets, hand carts and manually lifts, carries parts as needed Must participate in O.J.T (on the job training) as determined by supervisor/manager Equal Opportunity Employer.
