Overview

TRC is seeking a Project Scientist for the South and Central Florida regions. This position will be based in either central (Tampa/Orlando) or southern (Miami-Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach Counties) Florida, but may work on various public and private projects throughout Florida and Georgia.


Responsibilities

  • Inspection and testing for forensic property loss investigations, mold and water damage, floods, and indoor air quality are required. Experience with industrial hygiene assessments, asbestos, lead-based paints or radon is a plus.
  • Participate in an internal training and mentorship program to learn the fundamental skills and concepts of forensic water loss assessment and testing.
  • Conduct field hypothesis formulation and hypothesis testing in determining and verifying causes and origins of water damage and pathways of water migration.
  • Maintain a field assessment and corresponding report writing schedule and meet strict report deadlines.
  • Produce high-quality, highly detailed technical reports.
  • Deal directly with managers and technical staff in the management and resolution of complex environmental issues associated with assigned projects.
  • Perform project oversight and coordination with contractors.
  • Interaction between clients and contractors.
  • Complete field floor plan drawings for each assessment on a tablet.

Qualifications

  • Must be a good communicator and a team player.
  • The Florida Mold Assessor license will be required. Asbestos, lead paint, or radon certification and licensing is a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable means of transportation.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and motor vehicle records check.
  • Requires 5-10 years of experience primarily with mold and moisture damage assessment and testing, although indoor air quality and/or building sciences experience is a plus.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
