Job Description
Primary Purpose Responsible for leading, planning, coordinating, and completing operations and maintenance tasks/projects related to pipeline, measurement, and related equipment at a gas storage / Compressor facility. This position requires the incumbent to work independently with minimal supervision, work other than normal work hours, respond to call-outs. Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs periodic inspections and routine maintenance on the pipeline system and complete maintenance records, service reports, and other required documents
- Performs and monitors gas meter, chromatograph, and analyzer calibration and testing
- Troubleshoots measurement problems.
- Plans projects and tasks; and ensures effective implementation according to operational objectives and management direction in order to meet all compliance dates and deadlines.
- Responds to Pipeline one calls and locates
- Coordinates with vendors, contractors, encroachers, etc.
- Prepares various ad-hoc reports including providing data for regulatory reporting
- Trains, leads and provides guidance to other field O&M employees, both on technical and company administrative and operating policies and procedures.
- Makes decisions in the absence of the pipeline lead. Ensures O&M responsibilities are performed according to established policies and practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
5+ years of related experience, including experience in the maintenance of cathodic protection systems, pigging systems, high pressure pipeline systems, valves, and gas measurement and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must act in accordance with environmental and safety guidelines and procedures and encourages others to do so.
- Possess extensive knowledge of gas measurement and principals. Possess strong troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, one-line diagrams, piping alignment sheets, etc.
- Ability to complete tasks and assignments in a safe and environmentally responsible manner including ensuring proper handling and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
- Possess intermediate to advanced level proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel/Work/Outlook/Access) specifically for the purposes of word processing, spreadsheet applications, and information retrieval.
- Ability to maintain detailed records to ensure compliance with all Company policies as well as all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Possess strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Posses in-depth knowledge of mechanical principals, previous experience with maintenance scheduling database
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Ability to infrequently travel outside the job location area
- This position requires manual dexterity and visual acuity
- Exert up to 100 pounds of physical force
- Stand, walk, kneel, bend, and squat for extended periods of time
- Twist head and back for extended periods of time
- Work in areas classified as confined space
- Climb and work from ladders, catwalks, staging, and platforms
- Ascend and descend slopes and ditches
- Work with hands above head
- Work lying on back
Preferred Qualifications
- Typically requires a technician's or industrial degree or certification
