Position Summary:

Provides accounting expertise in Accounts Receivable, compliance, and control. Also drives agency's procurement process though online tools in order to better reduce expenses and increase accountability.

Essential Duties

Primary or Secondary functional desk activities as structured Supervisor to facilitate cross training and ensure integrity of the corporation:

Accounts Receivable

* Processing contracts monthly service claims and analysis, coordinating with respective program leaders as needed

* Prepares, posts, and records all AR Transactions

* Provides timely and accurate updates of the A/R ledger

* Review and approve disbursement account coding on grant expenditures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and conformance to Accounting rules and regulations, and grant Statement of Work.

* Maintain and reconcile monthly the Accounts Receivable records, accounts, and maintain Customer files

* Provides monthly follow-up with customers regarding past due charges.

Purchasing

* Drive efforts to streamline procurement of needed supplies and services through group purchasing service and coordination of agency accounts with needed vendors providing ideal value/price for agency needs.

* Maintain & document current procedures, conducts training as needed for staff to submit purchase order for needed supplies, equipment, or services.

* Handle administrative duties relating to purchases, including tracking order and ensuring records are kept up to date.

Common Responsibilities

* Ensures compliance with all relevant regulatory guidelines, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), agency policies, and insuring guidelines

* Performs monthly closing process for all functions through analysis, corrections and final aging reports reconciled to General Ledger.

* Reconciliation of balance sheet, expense and revenue accounts from the actual detail to the general ledger on a monthly basis

* Provides adjusting Journal entries and corrective actions

* Responsible for meeting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing cycle meeting the ascribed due dates

* Assists in annual audit as necessary

Salary Range

$22.00-$27.00 per hour

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Position requires previous training in accounting, college level accounting courses preferred and a minimum of two years' experience in accounting. Nonprofit experience preferred.

Additional Requirements:

* Proven ability to work independently, respond to agency fiscal needs and to interact with various agency vendors(s), and customer personnel in a professional, positive, cordial manner

* Must have and maintain a working vehicle, a valid, unrestricted California driver's license and current vehicle insurance

* Advanced knowledge and aptitude in Word, Excel, and Database programs
