The Opportunity
We are seeking a Safety & Quality Coordinator to join the team! Use your expertise to coach, counsel, and train experienced professionals in top industry safety and quality standards within the electrical utility industry. The Safety & Quality Coordinator is responsible for analyzing and developing safety plans, risk assessments, and pre-job briefings, and keeping training certifications current.
Location & Travel
- Consistent travel as necessary to other offices, yard locations, trainings, and offsite meetings.
- Monthly travel and management interaction at job sites in assigned IBA region is required.
- Additional customer-related travel may also be required at customer facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Upload Safety & Quality documents to SharePoint or server for customers, vendors and subcontractors.
- Assist in identifying appropriate materials and tooling to ensure safety and quality workmanship.
- Review all contract documents to become familiar with project safety and quality requirements and obligations.
- Assure complete and thorough pre-construction planning, as it relates to Safety & Quality, and provide necessary guidance or documentation during preconstruction.
- Facilitate a Site-Specific Safety Plan review with the Project Manager and Foreman.
- Attend pre-construction meetings and provide input or any necessary safety and quality responsibilities.
- Attend project meetings as needed representing the company.
- Stay up to date on current on industry standards, regulations, and work practices.
- Communicate and coach customer safety requirements.
Who We're Looking For
Required:
- Journeyman classification or Bachelor's degree or equivalent from four-year college or technical school
- 5 years' related experience in safety or construction or equivalent training and education
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Must have a valid driver's license required to operate company or personal vehicle for company business.
Desired:
- CSP, CUSP or other equivalent safety certification
- Confined Space Entry Trainer
- OSHA 10, 30, 500 training as well as OSHA T&D Training
- CPR/First Aid Instructor
