Clinical Assistant Professor and Student Remediation Specialist

Position Summary:



Yeshiva University's Katz School of Science and Health is seeking a full-time, non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor to teach in its undergraduate Nursing Program and support student success through academic remediation. This faculty member will have a primary teaching load and also serve as the program's Student Remediation Specialist.



Position Responsibilities:



Clinical Assistant Professor Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):



  • Develop and write assignments and coursework taught in the undergraduate nursing program.
  • Teach in both lectures and laboratories.
  • Provide remediation instruction to ensure student success.
  • Provide academic advisement for undergraduate nursing students.
  • Collaborate with members of the Katz Nursing faculty and other University faculty.
  • Participate in student recruitment events and retention initiatives.
  • Participate in Katz School scholarship activities and projects.
  • Serve on Nursing Program and University committees and provide professional service.
  • Participate in Nursing Program assessment and accreditation-related projects, reports, and site visits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Coordinate Clinical Adjunct Faculty.


Student Remediation Specialist responsibilities include (but are not limited to):



  • Meet with students who have been identified as at risk of failing within one week of receiving a referral.
  • In collaboration with the student, develop a remediation plan using the Student Remediation Plan template that includes at minimum:
  • Measurable objectives.
  • Assignments or activities appropriate for remediation.
  • Timeline for completing assignments or activities.
  • Schedule of remediation meetings.
  • Student signature and date.
  • Follow up and monitor student compliance and achievement of Student Remediation Plan.
  • Maintain a record using the Student Remediation Plan Report form of all meetings and interventions with the student.
  • Maintain close communication with the nursing Director of Student Advisement and nursing leadership on all students who have been referred for remediation.
  • Work collaboratively with the nursing Program Manager to archive completed Student Remediation Plan Reports electronically on the Nursing Share Drive.



Experience & Educational Background:



Credential Requirements:



  • Nursing Faculty positions require a current RN licensure, registration in New York State, and a minimum of a Master's Degree in Nursing.
  • All applicants should possess strong clinical expertise in their area of specialization.
  • Prior teaching experience and specialty certification are strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ATI is also preferred.
