GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Building & Facilities Technician will maintain the grounds, keep the production areas, storage yards, and access roads clean and organized, and perform general upkeep of the facility. This individual should hold strong time management and organizational skills to quickly respond to maintenance requests and accurately keep record of inventory. They may also conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and electrical systems. It is important this individual has a safety-first mindset.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Operate power tools, landscaping equipment, and other machinery to maintain grounds, lawns, trees, snow removal, and outdoor areas.
  • Support upkeep of production areas, storage yards, and access roads to ensure they are clean, safe, and properly organized.
  • Maintain and repair plant buildings including roofing, painting, windows, doors, and general structural upkeep.
  • Assist with the installation or removal of plant fixtures, signs, fencing, and other items.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and urgent repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure safe use and storage of tools, chemicals, and materials used in building and grounds maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks, repairs, inspections, and inventory of supplies.
  • Support compliance of company safety policies and procedures.
  • Performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance on facility infrastructure including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Assist the warehouse team in preparing embeds and related materials for production use.
  • Support the CNC team in the preparation and handling of insulation for production.
  • Assist the maintenance team with equipment and facility repairs as needed.
  • Provide general support for production setup, including concrete pouring and finishing tasks.
  • Operating heavy equipment as required.
  • Any additional tasks assigned.


EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:



  • Ability to get to work on time, daily.
  • Ability to work outside year-round required.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • History of working safe in an industrial setting and all kinds of weather conditions.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs, occasionally.
  • Physically able to push, pull, lift, bend, climb, kneel, twist, squat, crawl and use hands/forearms repetitively and frequently.
  • Ability to move around for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, swing stages and man lifts at various heights frequently.


WORKING CONDITIONS:



  • Moderate to high risk of exposure to unusual elements.
  • Moderate to high risk of safety precautions.
  • Moderate to high exposure to production environment.
  • Wet, hot, humid, and wintry conditions (weather related) (plant specific)
  • Ability to work outside year-round (plant specific)
