National Grid is hiring a Senior Supervisor for our Gas Field Operations department in Waltham, Newton St., MA.

Job Purpose

Responsible for the daily supervision and organization of assigned operations personnel in order to effectively accomplish job tasks in line with departmental and National Grid requirements. This may include oversight and/or collaboration with Construction Personnel, Field Operations Personnel, External Contractors, Gas Emergency First Responders, Service Persons, Mark-out Personnel, and other company or contractor employees on National Grid job sites, in a cost-effective manner.

Key Accountabilities

* Supervise a culturally diverse workforce, through coaching, counseling, and team building to effectively and efficiently accomplish job tasks

* Ensure the safety, reliability, security, and integrity of our gas customers' premises as well as the Company's distribution system, consistent with Company goals, objectives, and policies, in full compliance with existing and future governmental codes and regulations

* Respond to gas emergencies and coordinate with other Company emergency response personnel, Emergency Response Agencies, Regulators and the Police and Fire Departments

* Support achievement of goals, including operational targets, mandated objectives, budget goals, emergency response and safety

* Obtain all applicable Operator Qualifications, may involve shift work.

* Maintain compliance with OSHA, PUC and DOT regulations

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
  • Strong leadership, influencing, customer orientation and communication skills, providing the ability to promote team working and harmonious working between site staff, project teams and contractors.
Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree preferred

* 3+ years related work experience to include supervision of others/SME experience/Project Lead experience required

* Prior supervisory experience with a focus on Gas Construction, Gas Field Operations preferred

* Exceptional safety record, strong oral and written communication skills with the proven ability to maximize performance of subordinates required

* Solid planning and organizing skills required

* Valid driver's license required

Salary

$122k - $143k a year
