Position Summary

EBI Consulting is seeking an Industrial Hygiene Consultant. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing health and safety consulting services to biotech companies, pharmaceutical companies, research facilities, health care institutions, educational institutions, and diversified manufacturers. The ideal candidate will have a background in OSHA and EPA regulatory compliance, industrial hygiene, environmental health & safety program development, risk identification, and compliance auditing.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Senior Industrial Hygiene Manager. This will be a work from home position, with 50% or more local and national travel. The majority of clients this position will support are located in New England or the Central Region, so preference will be paid to candidates already established in these areas. Candidates should have prior experience working from home, traveling to client sites and able to thrive under this model moving forward to be considered.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Responsible for developing health and safety programs for various clients
  • Assess existing health and safety programs in client settings work to reduce potential incidents, injuries, and workplace exposures to chemicals and physical job hazards
  • Conduct detailed health and safety audits with emphasis on achieving compliance to meet State and Federal permit, OSHA, and USEPA requirements
  • Develop and manage workplace safety protocols and applicable safety training Understand environmental regulations and application of such within various settings
  • Independently conduct industrial hygiene monitoring for noise, hazardous chemicals, heat, and dust.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports outlining findings, conclusions, and recommendations for hazard control.



Qualifications and Capabilities



  • Bachelor's of Science in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene or Safety Management, Environmental Engineering, or Environmental Science required
  • 2 to 5+ years of progressive professional work experience in environmental health and safety, industrial hygiene, or a related field
  • Experience performing industrial hygiene exposure monitoring including the use of field sampling equipment.
  • Certification by the Board for Global EHS Credentialing as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or a willingness to pursue and obtain a CIH Designation within 3-5 years.
