Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented PBX operator to join our hospital's centralized communications team. This role is essential to maintaining seamless communication across departments, staff, physicians, and the public. The hospital operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week-so open availability is a must. Key Responsibilities: * Operate multi-line telephone systems, pagers, and overhead paging to manage internal and external communications. * Facilitate secure text messaging with medical staff for PHI-related communications. * Maintain and update on-call schedules via the web paging system. * Dispatch services for Transport, Translation, Biomed, EVS, and POM. * Respond to alarms and emergency notifications using an IP-based Informcast system. * Serve as a critical communication point during emergencies or disasters. * Provide accurate information using various internal resources. Qualifications: * High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent. * Bilingual in Spanish preferred. * Strong multitasking skills in high-pressure environments. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer systems. * Experience with high-volume, multi-line phone systems. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
