The Network Engineer is responsible for assisting in server management including DNS, DHCP SMS, WSUS, DFS, terminal servers, anti-virus, file / print and database servers; server hardware repair, maintenance and life cycle management; Data backup, disaster recovery and virtual server environment maintenance; installation and maintenance of IP telephony and network infrastructure (both wired and wireless). Travel, off-hours maintenance, occasional extended-hours support, and on-call for failures and outages is required.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:



  • Maintains wired and wireless network infrastructure.
  • Maintains Cisco video conference system, call manager and call center express.
  • Maintains internal/external DNS and DHCP scopes.
  • Manages end-user system and security updates.
  • Performs software upgrades, and equipment repairs as needed.
  • Orders equipment, prepares installation specifications, and monitors progress of installation to ensure facilities are ready on specified date
  • Inspects company premises to ascertain location and space available for installation of equipment.
  • Maintains up-to-date records of managed systems, equipment inventory, spares, etc.
  • Maintains call plans for all companies under Warren Equipment IT.
  • Reads technical manuals and brochures to determine equipment needs or system enhancements.
  • Maintains users, environments, directories, and security for networks being installed.
  • Installs and tests necessary software and hardware.
  • Maintains reliable network backups for all managed servers and data storage.
  • Provides users with network technical support.
  • On call for failures and outages of managed systems.
  • PC Support duties and functions.
  • Travel to Warren CAT locations for troubleshooting, setup, and/or maintenance of network infrastructure and servers.



WHAT YOU'LL NEED:



  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Candidates for this position will need to have some knowledge of Cisco networking equipment, IP telephony, and routing protocols.
  • Preferred certifications: MCSE, CCE, CCNA
