The A&D Accounting Senior II will report to the accounting manager of Acquisitions and Divestitures and be responsible for the preparation and/or review of accounting matters related to Acquisition and Divestiture activities as well as Oil and Gas Full Cost Pool movement, ensuring that all activity is prepared timely and accurately. The A&D Accounting Senior II will exhibit a strong working knowledge within the functional area and serve be a key participant as it relates to Acquisition and Divestiture accounting matters and the companies' unproved properties. Ideally, our candidate is comfortable and effective in a rapidly changing environment and will partner closely with other accounting function members, as well as a broad group of cross-functional business teams to facilitate the duties of this position and support well-informed decisions. The individual must be a self-starter, fast learner and capable of leading multiple concurrent projects within their areas of responsibility. This role also requires strong communication skills to effectively facilitate information flow between our A&D business partners, as well as with internal peers and management. Effective time management and prioritization skills in working multiple projects are essential to the success of this role.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate closings and post closings with A&D partners
  • Coordinate transition timelines across multiple departments and externally
  • Review purchase and sale agreements and other legal documents
  • Analyze data received from internal and external partners for completeness and accuracy
  • Timely prepare and/or review Acquisition and Divestiture activities in adherence with the underlying agreements and generally accepted accounting principles
  • In accordance with Full Cost accounting principles, calculate and prepare asset movement between unproved and proved properties.
  • Preparation of schedules and reports related to both A&D and Full Cost activities
  • Present activity reports in monthly meetings with executives
  • Assist the preparation of schedules and discussions with both auditors and internal partners
  • Preparation of SEC disclosures related to both A&D and Full Cost activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BBA or BS) in accounting or finance
  • At least eight (8+) years of Oil and Gas accounting experience
  • At least five (5+) years of experience with Acquisition and Divestiture accounting
  • Working knowledge of reserve reports and A&D one-lines
  • Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ten (10+) years of relevant experience with an Oil and Gas company
  • SAP and Blackline experience
  • Prior Supervisory/leadership experience a plus
  • Strong time management and project management skills
