DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will perform a variety of welding tasks, including welding, brazing, and cutting both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. You will also maintain transport vehicles and conduct minor repairs on welding equipment. Reporting to an Automotive Mechanic Supervisor or Equipment Manager, you will independently handle skilled trade duties, focusing on repairing components, structural welding of bridge elements, and frame repairs on equipment. Additionally, this role requires the fabrication of repair and body parts for various applications, employing techniques such as oxy-acetylene, electric arc, heli-arc, and other similar equipment to effectively join metals. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment, materials, and related shop equipment to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures; or
- Completion of a three-year, high school Vo-Tech training program in welding and eighteen months of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment, materials, and related shop equipment to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures; or
- Completion of an approved welder apprentice program; or
- A welding certificate D1.1 from the American Welding Society; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualification (not required):
- Experience with using, operating and maintaining Mig Welder, Spool Gun, Oxy-Acetylene Torch and Plasma Cutter.
