Under supervision of the Clinic Manager at Student Health & Counseling Services (SHCS), provide full range of support in the Primary Care Clinics as a member of the Medical Home Team and Acute Care Clinic including but not limited to advice and triage. Provide nursing care and education related to a variety of Primary Care visit types including, but not limited to, diabetes, wound care, suture removal, contraception, and sexually transmitted infections. Perform procedures per provider order. Following nursing protocols administer immunizations and order lab tests. This position may also be asked to work in Advice/Triage in Urgent Care and be responsible for communicating with and interviewing patients over the phone and in-person, obtaining information to evaluate illness/injury for severity, and prioritizing order of patients being seen. Start and monitor IVs, administer injections, apply splints, manage wounds, burns and perform suture removals. Follow SHCS nursing protocols and use electronic medical records for documentation.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction
- American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPR
- Associate of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Experience in outpatient Primary Care setting.
- At least one year of experience in Advice/Triage.
- Experience with electronic practice management system and electronic medical records/electronic health record (EHR).
- Knowledge of medication doses, ranges, side effects and contraindications.
- Knowledge of Triage and Advice.
- Skills to work independently and make Clinical decisions within the scope of nursing practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with adolescent, young Adult or college Health population.
- Experience working in an Urgent care or Emergency Care setting.
- Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with diverse populations and age groups.
- Wound care, splinting, Immunization schedules and Tuberculosis testing.

Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS) provides primary care, mental health, urgent care, laboratory, pharmacy, health education and counseling services to registered UC Davis students. SHCS serves approximately 300 patients per day during the school year.
