The role - what you'll do

Barr is seeking a Project Accounting/Billing Administratorto join our Minneapolis, Minnesota, team. In this hybrid role, you will support the Project Accounting group by helping ensure accurate project setup, invoicing, reporting, and collections through close collaboration with project managers.

A successful person in this role will be detail oriented, proactive, and enjoy collaborating with others across the organization to promote a positive internal and external client experience. They will be passionate about supporting and communicating with project teams while also having a high degree of self-initiative and ability to workindependently.

Your impact - key responsibilities

  • Client invoicing: prepare and issue client invoices in accordance with Barr's standards and each project's contractual obligations.

  • Project setup and structure support: set up projects in Deltek Vantagepoint and assist project managers in defining appropriate work breakdown structures for accurate financial tracking. Troubleshoot and resolve accounting-related issues by coordinating with internal staff or client accounting contacts as necessary.

  • Contract and documentation review: review contracts, purchase orders, work orders, and task orders to help ensure all required information is in place before initiating billing.

  • Financial reporting and analysis: generate and review project reports with project managers to identify discrepancies or corrective actions prior to invoicing; analyze budget vs. actual spending data.

  • Receivables management: partner with project managers to support the timely collection of outstanding receivables and communicate with clients as needed to resolve payment delays.

About the opportunity

  • Compensation: anticipated range of $27-37/hour. Compensation will vary based on relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus based on team and individual performance. This position is classified as non-exempt (hourly) under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

  • Hybrid: a hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is based out of Barr's Minneapolis, Minnesota,office.

About you - required core competencies

  • Experience: eight or more years of relevant experience managing invoices, reports, and collections in a professional services environment.

  • Software: proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, especially Word and Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables). Working knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future.

Helpful additional experience (not required)

  • Experience in multi-currency and multi-company environments.

  • Familiarity with professional services billing and project accounting.

  • Experience adjusting schedules to meet client or project deadlines.
