As the Sr. Manager - Production and Material Scheduling, you are responsible for aligning company policy and direction while providing leadership to the Inside Sales, Production Planning and Purchasing areas to provide adequate inventory and on time delivery.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING(% of Time)

While working within company and branch guidelines, the Sr. Manager, Production and Material Scheduling will oversee and manage all phases of the branch Inside Sales, Purchasing and Production Planning processes. (50%)

Lead, motivate and direct employees using effective performance management techniques, including establishing expectations and goals, providing recognition and feedback, and addressing performance problems. Coach, encourage, and develop employees according to their unique interests and strengths. Empower employees to take responsibility for their career and performance. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback. Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members and the organization. (30%)

Continuously strive to analyze processes and encourage initiatives to facilitate continuous improvements in quality, cost reductions, LEAN manufacturing processes, safety, warehousing and distribution. (10%)

Work effectively with home office and other branch departments to ensure proper inter-departmental communication and coordination. Interact regularly to effectively coordinate activities, evaluate concerns and determine resolutions to customer related issues. (10%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent in a related discipline
  • 5 years related experience and/or training in inventory and production scheduling
  • 2 years managing others
  • Mathematical Reasoning: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Language: Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or senior leadership.
  • Analysis/Reading: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Computer Skills: Must have working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, inventory software (i.e. MRP), order processing systems and manufacturing software.
  • Self-Management: Ability to display a high level of initiative, effort and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner.
  • Leadership: Ability to set clear, meaningful, challenging and attainable goals, while creating a positive work environment where all staff are motivated to do their best.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment where standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printer/scanner, etc. are frequently used.

TRAVEL

This job requires up to 20% domestic travel.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, exempt position is located in Gallatin, TN.

RELOCATION

Relocation is not available for this position.

PAY

$91,300 - $155,200 / year
