The Position

Our dedicated on-account Business Intelligence (BI) team is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst. The role joins a broader team of BI professionals supporting a large strategic client with a key focus on learning, supporting and building a growing array of BI solutions (dashboards, reports, apps, AI, ML, etc.). Our top talent team is on a journey to help the client shift from reporting the news to influencing it, and we're looking for team members who enjoy a challenge, never stop learning, and work well in a fast-paced team environment. This is an entry-level role, meaning that it is an individual contributor with an expectation that this individual has foundational technical skills and is eager to develop their abilities under guidance from more senior team members.

JLL BI bands progress as: Analyst > Sr. Analyst > Specialist > Sr. Specialist

This role will work directly with our account team and client, the primary consumers of the BI and analytics, and is critical to the success of the client relationship in driving performance management, process improvement, and innovation through fact-based decision making. This position is ideal for someone passionate about developing their business acumen and building technical expertise in data analytics to unearth nuggets of information to propel the business forward. A strong candidate will be detail-oriented, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to team initiatives. The BI & Analytics Analyst is a good communicator who is developing skills to leverage data, deploy resources, and collaborate to deliver successful outcomes.

This role, along with the rest of the greater BI team, will help champion and drive a data fluency culture across the account, increasing data-comfort levels to increase BI adoption rates and ultimately nurture a data-driven and results-driven community. An ideal candidate will have good relationship and program management skills and the ability to manage assigned tasks and projects under supervision. The candidate will have working knowledge of Tableau and Alteryx and be willing to learn other BI technologies.

This position works in a broad range of areas related to a global real estate portfolio: facility management, building operations, energy management, leasing, project management, and real estate portfolio planning.

This role will assist the account team to ensure quality delivery and healthy client relationships since both are critical to the account's success. Thus, this position requires the ability to learn and adapt quickly, collaborate with subject matter experts, and work with various stakeholders with different needs and requirements. A successful candidate will be a self-starter who can work creatively and effectively in a quickly changing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn and develop skills in Tableau and Alteryx to surface and devise reporting that result in actionable intelligence

  • Support the account team to gather data and translate requests into business requirement to help the account achieve its goals and improve operational efficiency

  • Develop skills as an engaging and effective storyteller, adept at translating data into impactful ah-ha's with relevant information for the business

  • Assist with analysis of data sets to answer key business questions using SQL, Excel, and basic Alteryx functions and other data manipulation languages

  • Support relationship management and advisory support to account team, identifying trends, risks, compliance gaps, and opportunity insights to enable fact-based decision making

  • Embrace continuous improvement efforts and be ready to evolve along with the team

  • Begin to learn the function and provide subject matter expertise for all data related processes and analyses related to Project Management

  • Work as a collaborative liaison between BI creators and BI consumers

  • Assist in partnering with various functions to truly understand the voice of the customer(s)

  • Support senior team members in working with JLL and Client leaders to understand pain points, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement, assisting with data driven analytics to understand key drivers and provide recommendations for improvement

  • Assist with quality data stewardship, knowing that incorrect data will lead to misinformation

  • Support the BI team's journey as they evolve from dashboarding into greater BI solutions, such as apps, AI, ML, and predictive analytics

  • Embrace Agile methodologies to manage workload, deliverables, communications, etc.

Key Requirements

  • Communication: Good presentation skills (verbal and written) with a basic understanding of analytic/statistical concepts and the ability to explain them to others. Able to communicate in a clear and concise manner in English.

  • Technically Proficient: Developing technical skillset with foundational knowledge of data analysis tools and demonstrated ability to manage, manipulate, and analyze raw data, research data issues, draw conclusions, provide resolution, and develop actionable recommendation.

  • Storyteller: Developing the ability to interpret and tell the story behind the data. Working knowledge of the Corporate Real Estate industry or any multi-services industry is a bonus.

  • Process Improvement Minded: Committed to continuous improvement through empowerment and management by data and is willing to re-engineer processes from scratch. Basic trouble-shooting skills, able to use Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Process-oriented with a developing grasp of requirements elicitation, project management, and technical delivery/development processes. Not afraid to fail fast, improve, and iterate.

Experience

  • 1-2 years in data analytics experience required, ideally in an enterprise environment across multiple application systems and business functions

  • Knowledge of data analysis tools required, with willingness to pursue Alteryx and Tableau certifications

  • Developing interpersonal skills and the personal credibility to engage and influence stakeholders

  • Ability to build constructive and collaborative working relationships

  • Beginning experience of extrapolating and visualizing data to derive actionable intelligence with demonstrated successes in data analysis, drawing conclusions, and suggesting improvements

  • Bachelor's degree, or evidence of foundational skill in BI, data science, computer science, econometrics, operations research, statistics, Information Management, or related analytical field

  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn Agile methodologies and framework a plus

  • Basic understanding of data fluency/literacy

  • Domain experiences advantageous in operations, real estate, project management, or finance preferred

The compensation will consist of a competitive base salary, performance bonuses, and an attractive benefits package will be offered to the successful candidate.

Estimated total compensation for this position:

60,000.00 - 80,000.00 USD per year
