Hiring Range
The University of California, Merced is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The hourly range the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is 24.29 - $27.90.

About the Job
Under direction of the Director of the community Engagement center, the Fellow Support Coordinator will provide support for College Corps website maintenance, community outreach to UC Merced students/staff to promote CollegeCorps Initiatives, and assist in the coordination of UC Merced's CollegeCorps program. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting CollegeCorps Fellows in the program including: outreach, data management through Qualtrics, databases and assessment tools, one-to-one and small group student support, and the development of program materials in collaboration with campus and community partners. The incumbent will provide support in facilitating CollegeCorps and workshops/webinars, as well as one-to-one guidance for students participating or looking to participate in College Corps. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide support for College Corps website maintenance, community outreach to UC Merced students/staff to promote CollegeCorps Initiatives, and assist in the coordination of UC Merced's CollegeCorps program. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting CollegeCorps Fellows in the program including: outreach, data management through Qualtrics, databases and assessment tools, one-to-one and small group student support, and the development of program materials in collaboration with campus and community partners. The incumbent will provide support in facilitating CollegeCorps and workshops/webinars, as well as one-to-one guidance for students participating or looking to participate in College Corps. This is a two-year grant-funded position, with potential for renewal.
- Provides support for the CollegeCorps Fellows at the request and direction of the director of the community Engagement Center including: student recruitment, outreach, training, and student staff communication and support. Assists in the management/maintenance of the UC Merced CollegeCorps Website as needed, including reviewing analytics and updating content. Assist the Director in the coordination of UC Merced's CollegeCorps program through one-on-one conversations, small group support, activities, weekly check-ins, updates and college-Corps-related reminders and deadlines.
- Develops relationships with internal and external organization stakeholders important to program success. Distribute outreach materials to campus partners, including participating in presentations to campus staff, faculty, and students.
- Assists program facilitators in providing education, training and reflection opportunities to students engaged in CollegeCorps. Help facilitate collaboration and the development of partnerships with students, staff, faculty, campus departments, academic departments. Refers students in crisis to more advanced student life and development professionals, or other student service departments using established protocols and guidelines. Assists in Timesheet management, and transportation guidance.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution. AND 1 year of experience in a related field. CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS
- General knowledge of student-centered philosophy focusing on student development.
- Skills in service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, and facilitation. Skill in working in a service environment including participant recruitment and orientation, program marketing, theory-based curriculum development, presentation development and facilitation, and learning outcome assessment. (Preferred)
- Strong interest in supporting social justice efforts, Interpersonal skills, Ability to work in a team environment and work with campus and community partners. Ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information. Demonstrated commitment and follow-though on projects.
- Basic knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs. Strong familiarity with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, preferred experience with online resources (i.e. Google Calendar, Documents) and survey software.
- Verbal communication, written communication and organization skills. Good communication skills and experience with coalition building, as this position requires plenty of coordination and time with a variety of stakeholders (students, staff, faculty, community partners). Demonstrate courtesy, professionalism and leadership skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of the needs of a diverse student population. Ability to interact with diverse student population, including individuals from varied racial and socio-economic backgrounds.
