Job Description

Join a growing tax department that is focused on technology and best practices in all areas of tax. We are looking to be best in class in tax services to our Nidec Americas Holding Corporation business group while adding value in the tax services we provide. The Tax Manager, Indirect will be responsible for the indirect tax filings. The candidate will be a key player in leading and growing our indirect tax shared service offerings.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare & review sales, use and property tax returns for the company's US affiliates
  • Manage the calculations of all aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual process related to sales, use, and property tax filings
  • Focus on minimizing sales, use and property tax liabilities and maximizing refund opportunities
  • Evaluate and identify opportunities to improve processes and implement approved changes
  • Ensure all tax returns are timely and accurately filed
  • Manage data gathering process and be an advisor to the business
  • Respond to notices and manage tax audits
  • Support initiatives to expand shared service offerings to other business units
  • Manage and review tasks of the staff in the Philippines shared service office
  • Research and provide advice on technical tax issues
  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance-related field
  • 5+ years of experience with public accounting firm and/or large corporation required
  • Strong knowledge of sales, use and property tax reporting requirements, including exemption requirements
  • Experience with conducting tax audits and reverse tax audits
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across departmental functions
  • High standards of data accuracy, attention to detail, commitment, and integrity
  • Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical, project management, and prioritization skills
