AI Application Engineer

Advantest America, a leading Semiconductor Test and Measurement Company, is seeking a self-driven and creative engineer to help research applications for new technologies related to machine learning. The job entails learning SW stacks related to hosting and running LLMs and investigating some different vendors and open-source models and how they may assist Advantest platform users and operators. This position is located at our headquarters in San Jose, CA.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate vendor AI services
• Setup and run LLM models on on-prem GPU based hardware
• Using some domain specific documentation as input context and evaluate model performance for a range of questions and topics
• Experiment with RAG and other operational enhancements
• Web dashboards (open source or custom) for user interaction
• Provide a weekly progress report to manager
