Job Description

SUMMARY:

Salary: $123,500 to $152,559

The Supply Chain Manager is the Supply Chain subject matter expert and is accountable for the strategic direction, operational performance, and global sourcing execution of the supply chain for a unionized, heavy manufacturing facility with foundry, CNC machining, coating, and assembly/test operations. The role leads a team responsible for global procurement of raw materials, components, and finished goods, while also supporting capital project sourcing, supply chain resilience, and environmental compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of supply chain strategies and technologies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, manage, develop, and hold accountable a cross-functional team of supply chain, inventory, and shipping/receiving professionals.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor supply chain strategies to support production requirements and customer demand.
  • Support Engineering and Operations teams in the procurement of capital equipment, tooling, and infrastructure for facility expansions, new production lines, and foundry upgrades.
  • Evaluate vendors and contractors for compliance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness during project bids and execution.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data analytics to drive continuous improvement in supply chain performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, safety standards, and corporate policies.
  • Lead supply chain risk management, including contingency planning and supplier diversification strategies.
  • Implement and optimize ERP and other supply chain technology platforms. Use ERP/MRP systems to drive accurate planning, procurement timing, and material visibility.
  • Manage cost savings initiatives through negotiations, value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE), and supply chain redesigns.
  • Provide cross-functional support to other departments and executive functions as needed.
  • Conform to requirements of the ISO 9001 standard surrounding externally provided products and services.
Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain or logistics management within a heavy manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement, production planning, inventory management, and logistics.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, or similar platforms).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to manage cross-functional teams.
  • APICS or similar supply chain certification (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) preferred.
Additional Information

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Standing or sitting at a desk for long periods of time and walking throughout the facility.
  • Exposed to elements, such as cold, heat, noise, dust, odors, fumes, etc.
  • Work time is spent primarily inside the main entrance building, with rounding on the manufacturing floor and KV grounds; occasional tasks and interactions outdoors.
