Here's what you'd do:

  • Responsible for performing inspections, tests, or audits of purchased parts, units, materials, equipment, panel/module level assemblies, and quality control programs to specifications.
  • Interprets manufacturing drawings, diagrams, specifications, and lists to approve or reject units, test setups, or systems for in-process or final assemblies.
  • Reworks defective or malfunctioning units or systems.
  • Maintains support documentation and performs sampling and testing of incoming components, raw materials, and the build of assemblies.
  • Reviews and reports performance data.
  • Ensures raw materials, in-process, and finished products meet company and test standards.
  • Determines or assists in determining methods and procedures necessary for inspection.
  • May interface with customer quality representatives or suppliers.
  • Developing support for individual contributors.
  • Works under general supervision.
  • Work is less structured within identified boundaries and procedures.
  • Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations.
  • Less detailed instructions are provided, and moderate peer review is necessary.
  • Communicates with contacts typically within the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach an agreement.
  • Follows established processes to complete tasks.
  • Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations.
  • Escalates issues to the supervisor for resolution.
  • Works to achieve operational targets within the job area, which impacts the team's overall results.
  • Work is somewhat limited in scope, typically on smaller, less structured task-related activities.
  • The Quality Inspector will be responsible for in-process and incoming inspection of composite parts and machined parts; in-process inspection of product in flow; and final inspection of completed products and documentation to verify conformance to standards, specifications, drawings, and other clients' requirements.
  • Provides detailed in-process and incoming inspections on flight vehicle composite components, machined parts, and assemblies using detailed drawings and established processes to verify conformance to manufacturing and design requirements.
  • Inspects machined parts, composite parts, and assemblies for dimensional accuracy, using precision measuring instruments, templates, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Visually inspects composite parts and assemblies for voids, porosity, delaminations, and other physical characteristics.
  • Examines products for compliance with workmanship standards and proper installation of correct components, hardware, and wiring.
  • Documents production non-conformances by prescribed procedures and processes as necessary.
  • Collaborates with quality engineers to develop inspection requirements and techniques and implement quality plans.
  • Reviews new or modified drawings or work instructions for compliance with quality standards and recommends changes as necessary.
  • Assists in evaluating defect data to identify trends and collaborates with quality engineers to recommend process improvements.
  • Verifies that final inspections and data packages for product shipments are complete.
  • Performs data entry and maintains records for inspections, non-conformances, and reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Here's what you'll get:

Pay: $24 - $31/hr.

Hours: 40 hours/week (1st Shift).

Length: Temp to Direct (12 Months).

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 4 years of computer operating experience and in MS Office.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a high-tech development or production manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree.
  • Experience receiving/inspecting parts and assemblies.
  • Experience in defense/government program Quality Assurance and manufacturing.
  • Past inspection of military or aerospace products experience.
  • IPC 610/620 certification.
  • Fundamental understanding of quality philosophies, principles, systems, methods, tools, and standards.
  • Good interpersonal and teaming skills.
  • The ability to work independently and with little direction.
  • Excellent people skills to include collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
  • Outstanding work ethic and commitment to organizational success.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation).
