About the Role

We are looking for a Textile Development Engineer to join our Fabrics R&D Team who will work with global cross functional team and Asia Pacific textile manufacturers to drive new textile and laminatefabricdevelopment from concept through commercialization.

This role will be located at our facility in Shenzhen, China.

Responsibilities
  • Partner withtextile vendors,global and local product development teams to develop high performance textiles
  • Explore textile innovation from existing supply chain and textile industrytodriveinnovative textiledevelopment
  • Understand existing vendors' capability and identifytheright partner for textile feasibility study, develop prototypes, troubleshoot technical issues, establish and aligntextilespecifications
  • Identify unique textile innovationandpatent opportunitiestosupport the enterprise IP processes
  • Work withcross functional teamsto developand validateinternal laminationprocesses,assess final laminateperformance, andestablishspecifications
  • Apply disciplined project practices to prioritize, execute anddocument the work
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor or advanced degree, major in textile related areas fields with minimum 7 years solid work experience on new textile development and synthetic fibers(recycled & virgin nylon, polyester, sustainable textilesetc)
  • In-depth knowledge of fiber & yarn, weaving & knitting, dyeing & finishing, inspection
  • Self-motivated and self-directed, comfortable working in a rapid paced environment
  • Excellent communication in both English and Mandarin (Written and Verbal)
  • Good project management skills including ability to communicate with cross-functional teams, multi-task, prioritize and deliver result
  • Ability to identify technical uncertainties, propose resolving hypothesis and build plans to verify
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in coordinating multiple vendors and developing strong relationship with them
  • Experience in Statistical tools, example of DoE, validation etc
