We're seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Customer Service Representative to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative experience in an office setting who thrives on supporting clients and internal teams with precision and professionalism. The representative handles customer service tasks, policy renewals in professional office environment and supports insurance team in renewing existing policies and selling new accounts.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Renew and/or market expiring policies by gathering updated customer information and processing with underwriters/systems for policy issue.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, process policy changes, and issue certificate of insurance.
  • Monitors policy expiration list to be certain that expiring policies are renewed.
  • Monitors accounts receivable balances on assigned accounts.
  • Delivers high-level administrative support including insurance documentation preparation and client file management.
  • Engages in cross-selling of insurance and financial services through structured office-based client interactions.
  • Complete required training and maintain compliance with licensing standards.
  • Performs other office duties as required.


Qualifications

Education:


  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Some college preferred, but not required.
  • Must be able to obtain Insurance license within 90 days of start date.


Experience:


  • Prior experience in insurance, office administration or customer service strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Office and Excel proficiency preferred.


Skills:


  • Thorough knowledge of insurance products and coverages.
  • High level of organizational and communication skills including the ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks and establish priorities.
  • Ability to empathize with customers and to respond appropriately.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and occasionally outside the office.



Compensation & Benefits

Compensation:

At First Mid, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of discretionary short-term incentives (i.e., bonus, incentives, and/or commission). Benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare, well-being benefits, paid family leave as well as generous paid time off. Total Rewards also include banking perks, tuition reimbursement, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, and a 401K plan with company match. Incentives and benefits are subject to eligibility requirements.
