Senior Technical Program Manager

Location: San Francisco

Role Overview:
Technical Program Managers (TPMs) play a pivotal role at Salesforce by leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives within our Technology & Products organizations. As a Senior Manager of Technical Program Management for Platform, you will spearhead key initiatives, ensuring operational excellence across the teams you support. This role involves driving operational coordination across Engineering and Product to swiftly deliver critical capabilities to our Product portfolio. You will lead cross-functional teams through development and release phases, manage complex dependencies and timelines, mitigate risks, and align deliverables with our business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale technical programs from inception to completion.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define program scope, objectives, and deliverables.

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.

  • Identify and manage program risks, issues, and dependencies; develop effective mitigation strategies.

  • Communicate program status, progress, and key metrics to stakeholders and executive leadership.

  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement through best practices and process enhancements.

  • Ensure alignment between technical teams and business objectives.

  • Drive Agile methodologies and practices adoption within the program.

  • Mentor and guide junior program managers and team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex software programs at scale, involving multiple software development teams. Experience with large product launches is advantageous.

  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.

  • Excellent project management skills, including task prioritization, resource management, and deadline adherence.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • PMP, Scrum Master, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
