Job Description

Develops strong relationships with potential physicians of the health system. Develops goals and identifies initiatives related to physician recruitment, in alignment with the mission and vision of the health system.

Job Responsibility




  • Leads the Physician Recruiting function by developing leaders and driving programs and initiatives that support and impact the overall Northwell health system goals.
  • Develops and articulates a long-term strategic vision for areas of responsibility.
  • Develops strong relationships with potential physicians of the health system; works to cultivate effective communication and implements strategies to enhance lines of communication with the medical staff and health system.
  • Identifies and helps to establish the components necessary for attraction and retention of voluntary physicians; contributes to the attraction of voluntary physicians through continued communication and relationship building.
  • Understands intricate dynamics of full-time and voluntary physician relationships; develops goals and identifies initiatives related to physician partnerships, in alignment with the mission and vision of the health system.
  • Sets goals and objectives and contributes to the development of the health system strategic plan as it relations to physician recruitments.
  • Works closely with and takes direction from the leadership to ensure goals are met.
  • Continually monitors and evaluates programs/initiatives and recommends methods for improvement; develops metrics and coordinates efforts to gather information to ensure success.
  • Works collaboratively with clinical and administrative leadership to maximize utilization of current facilities and resources.
  • Provides information to health system senior leadership; reports to committees/forums.
  • Contributes to the ongoing success and transformation of healthcare delivery at the health system.

Job Qualification




  • Master's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 10-12 years of relevant experience and 7+ years of leadership / management experience, required.
