Summary of Position: Serve as Subject Matter Expert and technical instructor for AW series of aircraft with special emphasis on the AW609, providing comprehensive technical training to maintenance personnel.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and maintain courseware and training devices: 25%
- Deliver Instructor-led training on-site: 50%
- Deliver Instructor-led training off-site: 10%
- Attend courses for continued education (both on and off-site): 5%
- Support quality and authority audits: 5%
- Perform other duties and fulfill other responsibilities as assigned: 5%
HS diploma or equivalent required; Associate or BA/BS Degree in Aerospace, Avionics, Engineering, or related technical field considered a plus.
Prior experience working on AW609, V-22, or fly-by-wire aircraft highly desirable. Strong knowledge of helicopter avionics and electrical systems, with proven troubleshooting skills and a deep understanding of system integration, flight deck components, and operational logic. Previous experience with a ground instruction background considered a plus.
- Competencies and Attributes:
- Familiarity with the commercial rotorcraft operational environment, particularly with avionics-related functionality, failure modes, and field-level support practices.
- Proficient in creating and delivering training using electronic presentation tools (e.g., PowerPoint, digital whiteboards, e-learning platforms).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex avionics concepts into digestible training for both technical and non-technical learners.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, professional training environment.
- A passion for teaching and mentoring, with a willingness to share expertise and contribute to team and customer success.
- Licensure/Certification:
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate or Avionics Technician Certification strongly preferred.
