POSITION GOAL:

The Technical Lead - Engineering Lead Bus Specialist will play a pivotal role in managing and guiding a dedicated team that is responsible for delivering direct support on the production lines. This team's primary objective is to swiftly and effectively address any electrical engineering and programming challenges that arise during the critical phase of electrical checkout for online buses, with a particular focus on lead buses. The Technical Lead will ensure that any issues are resolved promptly to maintain the efficiency and reliability of the production process, thereby directly contributing to the overall success of our operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Lead a dynamic team tackling electrical engineering challenges across five production facilities.

* Ensure adherence to the Engineering Lead Bus Specialist process by effectively tracking and managing issues.

* Offer technical support and expertise to team members to facilitate the resolution of complex technical problems.

* Engage with production facility management and staff daily to align priorities, including facilitating or leading daily meetings.

* Keep a close eye on the team's performance metrics to guarantee prompt resolution of issues.

* Strategically manage and distribute tasks among team members to maintain balanced workloads and meet deadlines.

* Review engineering work with a focus on PLC programming for accuracy and compliance.

* Collaborate with suppliers to address and resolve technical challenges related to vendor components.

* Liaise with customers to clarify their requirements while communicating any issues and expected timelines for resolution.

* Onboard and train new employees on their roles and the vehicle electrical system.

Requirements

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

Education:

Applicants are required to hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology. Alternatively, candidates may qualify through equivalent experience or relevant knowledge in a related field.

Experience/Knowledge:

  • It is strongly preferred that candidates possess a minimum of 5 years of substantial and relevant experience within the industry or technology sector.
  • Proficiency and understanding of vehicle electrical systems are essential, as this knowledge is critical for success in this role.
  • Furthermore, prior experience in a managerial position where supervising and guiding a team was a key responsibility is highly desirable, as leadership skills will be valuable in driving projects forward.
