Foxhole Technology is seeking an experienced Lead Network Engineer to lead a team in support of a DoD Cyber Program. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring secure and resilient operations for DoD networks. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of DoD policies and cybersecurity frameworks.



Job Description

    Lead and mentor network engineering teams, fostering technical growth and ensuring alignment with mission priorities
  • Design, implement, and manage secure, resilient network infrastructure across NIPRNet and SIPRNet connected enclaves
  • Support the Program, ensuring compliance with DoD, DISA, STIGs, and RMF security standards and policies
  • Oversee network performance, availability, and security across multiple enclaves to ensure seamless user access to program services
  • Manage network infrastructure components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and encryption devices
  • Configure, monitor, patch, and troubleshoot network devices to maintain optimal performance and security
  • Ensure encryption certificate compliance by proactively requesting and installing updates 60 days prior to expiration
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering teams, cybersecurity, contractors, and government officials
  • Support network incident response and resolve issues efficiently to minimize operational impact
  • Conduct network risk assessments, monitor emerging threats, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Develop and maintain network policies, standards, and procedures aligned with DISA STIGs and security best practices
  • Decommission network services efficiently when no longer required to optimize infrastructure
  • Utilize network tools and analytics to monitor performance and identify opportunities for optimization
  • Prepare and deliver reports, briefings, and recommendations to senior leadership to guide strategic decisions


Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum Security Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 8+years of experience in information security, including 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of DoD network policies, including DISA STIGs, RMF, NIST 800-53, and Zero Trust Architecture.
  • Experience with network security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and SIEM solutions.
  • Proven ability to manage network incidents, assessments, and compliance efforts.
  • Active CCNP, CISSP, or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
